2008-09 Transportation Plan Changes
The Comstock Public Schools' Board of Education approved changes to the district's transportation plan for the 2008-09 school year. The major changes in the revised plan are as follows: •· The district will have a single tier of transportation for all district-wide buildings. Students that attend East elementary, Northeast middle school and Comstock High School will all ride on the same buses. •· The start time for East elementary school will be adjusted earlier by approximately one (1) hour. Correspondingly, the ending time for East elementary will be one (1) hour earlier. •· All students on the bus will have assigned seats and will be seated according to grade. The fourth (4th) graders will be seated in the first rows, then fifth (5th) graders, middle school students, then high school students. •· The district's transportation staff will be trained in the positive behavior support system (PBS) that is currently being used in the elementary buildings. Overall the district is projected to save approximately $250,000 from these transportation changes. Please review the attached documents for more detailed information related to the transportation changes. The first document is the information that was presented to the Comstock Public Schools' Board of Education and the second document is a detailed discussion regarding the changes: |
