North Star Trek Walk-A-Thon

 A Big Success!

On Friday, September 26, 2008, North Star Students walk, walk, walked their way through the day during our North Star Trek Wak-A-Thon.  Students earned "Trek Counters" as they circled the track and totaled their laps at the end of the day.  Congratulations to North Superstars for walking 1,956 total laps!  Many thanks to our Parent Teacher Group, Teachers, Community Members and Mr. Vandis for helping our Walk-A-Thon to be a big success!

Project Playground

PTG supports our great playground projects.  Our most recent project is to build safe "fall zones" under the playground equipment to help keep our children safe.  Please watch for more information on our next Project Playground work day.  We hope you can help!

Mighty North Star Readers

North teachers, parents and students worked hard during the 2007-2008 school year to raise enough money to purchase North Star Reading Club t-shirts for the entire school!  On Friday, March 21, 2008, North students showed their amazing school spirit and great love for reading by wearing their new t-shirts to the special author visit.

We are proud of our North Star Readers!

Remember to Collect Your Box Tops!

North students turn Box Tops in monthly.  All classrooms have an opportunity to win the "Box Top Traveling Trophy", one of the most coveted trophies around!  All box tops are worth 10 cents a piece and help fund our playground projects.  One of the best ways to collect Box Tops is to ask your grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncles and friends to help you collect them!

Come See the Reading Wall of Fame!

North PTG endorses the North Media Center Wall of Fame and Reading Club project. All students have their picture on the Wall of Fame. Each student has the additional opportunity to have a special Reading Club Level Symbol placed on the wall. The symbol shows what reading level the student has achieved. The PTG hopes to help North sponsor Reading Club T-shirts for all North Elementary students. Check back in for more details!
